Transduction of the Geomagnetic Field as Evidenced from Alpha-Band Activity in the Human Brain
Connie X. Wang, Isaac A. Hilburn
Using shielded-room EEG experiments, a Caltech-led team found that rotating the ambient magnetic field around resting participants produced repeatable drops in alpha-band brainwave power. This provides the strongest evidence to date that the human brain passively detects and responds to magnetic field changes, though the authors do not claim conscious awareness of the effect.
