Its famous claim to have been printed in Memphis in 1517 is pseudohistorical; surviving print and manuscript evidence points to a much later European tradition.
The Grand Grimoire is a French demonological grimoire best known for a pact narrative involving Lucifuge Rofocale. Surviving evidence includes an important manuscript dated 1702 in the Bibliothèque nationale de France and later printed Red Dragon editions. Claims of a 1522 original are not securely verified.
The Grimoire of Pope Honorius is a French printed grimoire falsely attributed to a pope, usually Honorius III. It adapts prayers, liturgical forms and clerical authority to a manual of conjuration. It is distinct from the medieval Sworn Book of Honorius.
