Raven Pro is a professional bioacoustics analysis application developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for wildlife sound research. Raven Pro's selection table workflow is the core differentiator: you draw selections around acoustic events of interest in the spectrogram, and Raven automatically measures signal parameters for each selection — peak frequency, bandwidth, duration, signal-to-noise ratio, and many others. These measurements become a structured dataset exportable to Excel or statistical software. A paper claiming measured frequency ranges and SNR values is far more credible than a paper claiming 'we heard voices'.
