Investigation Summary
Lambidhar was a documented 97-hectare limestone mine operated by the Uttar Pradesh State Mineral Development Corporation. A 1988 Supreme Court judgment records its production and serious environmental-management deficiencies, while a 2022 ecological study examines the reclaimed site. Neither supports the popular claim that 50,000 workers died, that a catastrophic collapse closed the mine, or that aviation incidents were linked to it.
Modern stories of cries, a chudail and other phenomena are folklore without attributable incident records; a 2023 EMF article lacks the controls needed to demonstrate an anomaly. PRN records a genuine industrial landscape with a strong modern legend, not a proven haunting.
