Investigation Summary
Casa Amarela was an unfinished yellow house in São João de Ovar, locally reported as built in 1946 and demolished on 3 January 2024. Its fame came from conflicting legends: one described a father killing his daughter and her lover at a well before dying by suicide; another described a ruined businessman. Later retellings added screams, blood-like stains, breaking windows, failed demolition machinery, curses and hostile spirits.
OvarNews documented a 2017 YouTube-series visit, Ana Luísa Lopes’s award-winning 2018 cultural documentary, and a 2022 spiritual claimant’s visit. No names, death records, original incident files, controlled evidence or verified paranormal recordings were recovered. The successful 2024 demolition contradicts the machinery-failure legend.
